IT SPECIALIST

Job Summary

Saia seeks a service-oriented and self-motivated professional to join our IT support team. In this role, you will maintain and monitor our business's computer systems and networks. You will be tasked with solving complex technical issues and collaborating with team members across all various departments to assist them with their technical requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Install and configure software and computer systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software or hardware.
  • Respond to telephone calls, e-mails, and personnel requests for technical support.
  • Maintain procedures and reports that provided technical support to the entire organization.
  • Analyze records and logs to spot underlying trends and potential issues.
  • Support the implementation of new solutions or applications.
  • Assist with onboarding for new users.
  • Test, evaluate, and make recommendations about new technology for the business.
  • Follow up and update tickets generated in our DB system.
  • Participate in business-wide meetings to provide insight into technical requirements.

 

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (preferred).
  • 1+ years of experience in a technical support role.
  • Certifications are preferred but not required.
  • A Working knowledge and expertise with various software, hardware, and applications.
  • Willingness to solve complicated problems and see projects through to completion.
  • Analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions.
  • Team-oriented attitude to help other colleagues and departments with technical problems.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous projects at one time.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work business hours Monday through Friday 8:am-4:30 pm. Work may require occasional weekend and or evening work.
  • Work is on-site and fieldwork.
